NEW ORLEANS — The Young Leadership Council (YLC) opened nominations for the 2027 Role Model class, which recognizes leaders making a difference in the Greater New Orleans area. Nominations are open through December 11, 2026, at 5 p.m. CT. The 2027 Role Model class will celebrate a group of distinguished individuals who are actively contributing to the betterment of the New Orleans community in a number of ways.
Honorees of the 2027 Role Model class take part in events with YLC members and the Role Model alumni network. The program culminates in the fall of 2027 with an Awards Evening Celebration, date to be announced, honoring the class of leaders and highlighting important moments with the Role Models. The 2027 Role Model committee will be co-led by YLC Board Member Sarah Hunko and YLC Member Karen Fielder-Johnston.
“I’m looking forward to honoring the changemakers, community leaders, and role models who make the Greater New Orleans area the best place in the world,” said Hunko.
“YLC’s role models embody the future of our community,” said Fielder-Johnston. “We’re looking for people who uplift young professionals, strengthen their communities, bring New Orleans together, and make a real difference in what they do.”
Eligible Role Model nominees have never received the YLC Role Model Award, live or work in the Greater New Orleans area, and do not currently hold public office. Anyone interested in submitting a nomination is encouraged to visit www.ylcnola.org/ylc-role-models to learn more and to view the list of past honorees. There is no limit to the number of nominations an individual can submit, and individuals can self-nominate.
