Annual Christmas Wish Project provides gifts for children, veterans and seniors in the community.
NEW ORLEANS — Each year, VOA Southeast Louisiana spreads holiday joy through its annual Christmas Wish Project, providing gifts, essential items and festive cheer to individuals and families who might otherwise go without.
VOA Southeast Louisiana serves more than 26,000 individuals across 16 parishes and is calling on community partners, local businesses and individuals to help fulfill more than 1,000 Christmas wishes this year. Supporters are encouraged to sponsor a child, veteran or senior and purchase gifts from their wish lists.
“VOA Southeast Louisiana invites our community to come together and help bring holiday joy to the people we serve,” said Donisha Duckworth, resource development & outreach coordinator at VOA Southeast Louisiana. “The support of our community partners, local businesses and individual donors is essential to the success of this project. In 2025 alone, nearly 900 individuals served by VOA Southeast Louisiana submitted holiday wishes. Each wish represents an opportunity for our community to make a meaningful difference. Together, we hope to reach even more individuals and families this holiday season!”
Individuals, businesses, churches and community organizations are encouraged to participate in this year’s Christmas Wish Project by visiting voasela.org/christmas-wish/. All gifts must be wrapped and delivered to VOA Southeast Louisiana’s office at 4152 Canal St. in New Orleans by Thursday, Dec. 10, 2026.
For those who prefer to make a financial contribution, sponsorship opportunities are also available. These contributions allow VOA Southeast Louisiana to purchase gifts for individuals whose wishes have not yet been fulfilled, helping more children, veterans and seniors experience the joy of the holiday season.
