NEW ORLEANS – Chi Chi’s is teaming up with Luling-based Gonzo’s Smokehouse & BBQ, widely recognized as one of Louisiana’s standout barbecue destinations, for a one-night-only collaboration pairing Gonzo’s Texas-style barbecue with Chi Chi’s Korean and Japanese-inspired cooking.
On Tuesday, Oct. 20, Chef Adolfo Garcia Jr. will welcome Gonzo’s founder Jason Gonzalez, a Waggaman, Louisiana native who turned his passion for Central Texas-style craft barbecue into a full-time pursuit after years working as a structural designer in the oil and gas industry.
The limited-time menu offers both chefs an opportunity to step outside their usual menus, combining Gonzo’s smoke-driven barbecue with the bold, savory, and aromatic flavors that define Chi Chi’s cooking.
THE MENU
Smoked Beef Cheek Curry Bowl
Tender smoked beef cheek served in a rich curry bowl, inspired by Chi Chi’s Chicken Katsu Curry.
BBQ Lemongrass Lamb Chops
