City of New Orleans Encourages Residents to Participate in 2027 Budget Community Meetings

NEW ORLEANS — Mayor Helena Moreno invites all New Orleanians to attend one of seven town hall-style meetings, focused on gathering public input on the 2027 City Budget and on the priorities for our city’s future. The meetings will provide residents with an open opportunity to share their priorities directly with City leaders and to guide the direction of the 2027 City budget prior to introduction for debate at the New Orleans City Council later this fall.

The City’s 2027 initial budget proposal includes opportunities to repair, enhance and modernize critical infrastructure; promote fiscal responsibility and accountability; and foster community economic development and long-term job growth. The budget is also intended to prioritize investments in neighborhoods and small-business development and to improve quality of life for residents across New Orleans.

The Budget Meetings are among the many opportunities for community input in the City’s spending decisions and serve as a platform for city budget architects to learn about your priorities as citizens shape the future of our city.

All residents are encouraged to attend and take an active role in the discussion.

Residents can visit the City’s Budget Website for more information and to submit questions and comments ahead of the meetings.
