NEW ORLEANS – Urban South Brewery invites guests to experience a one-night-only Oktoberfest Dinner on Friday, Sept. 25. The ticketed dining experience will kick off the brewery’s 10th annual Oktoberfest celebration with traditional German fare, liter pours of German-style beer and live music from the Deutsches Haus Band.
Each ticket includes a traditional Oktoberfest feast featuring Hendl, a half-roasted chicken; a giant soft pretzel served with spicy brown mustard and beer cheese; a variety of sausages and bratwursts; and sides of pickles, onions and sauerkraut. Designed as an immersive beer hall-style experience, guests will also receive one liter of any German-style beer available on tap, bringing together the food, beer and traditions at the heart of the Oktoberfest experience. The Deutsches Haus Band will perform traditional Oktoberfest music from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The dinner serves as the official kickoff to a full weekend of festivities as Urban South celebrates its 10th annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 26. The free, family-friendly celebration will feature an extensive lineup of German-style beers, including Oktoberfest Märzen, Hefeweizen, Helles, Dunkel, Festbier, Radler and Berliner, alongside traditional food offerings including giant pretzels, schnitzel and brats. Guests can also participate in Urban South’s annual Stein Hoisting competition and cheer on the return of the Dachshund Races for their second year, with live music and festivities continuing throughout the day.
“Oktoberfest has been a staple at Urban South for the past 10 years, and we wanted to do something different to mark that milestone,” said Jacob Landry, co-founder of Urban South Brewery. “Adding the Oktoberfest Dinner gives guests a new way to experience a unique celebration of the German-style beers, food and traditions that have made this event a favorite year after year.”
