NEW ORLEANS — The Moreno Administration today announced the launch of the City’s new Real-Time Budget to Actuals Dashboard, a significant step forward in its commitment to fiscal transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of public resources.
The new dashboard provides residents with a clear, accessible view of each City department’s budget alongside year-to-date spending, offering unprecedented insight into how taxpayer dollars are managed throughout the fiscal year. Updated daily, the dashboard reflects actual City spending in near real time, allowing both the public and City leadership to monitor budget performance as it happens.
“Transparency is essential to building public trust and ensuring responsible financial management,” said Mayor Moreno. “This dashboard gives residents a clearer understanding of how City resources are being allocated while providing City leaders with the information needed to proactively manage spending and make informed financial decisions.”
In 2026, the Moreno Administration revamped the City’s budget reporting processes to provide more meaningful insights into budget performance. Building on those improvements, the Administration partnered with the City Council to develop this interactive dashboard, making budget information more accessible than ever before.
“The City has been working hard to strengthen its budget practices and this dashboard gives residents greater visibility into that progress,” said Abby Vienne, Chief Performance Officer for the City of New Orleans. “By providing a new level of access to budget data and spending trends, it helps demystify how public dollars are being spent and makes clear the information City leaders use to make budget decisions.”
The dashboard allows users to explore City finances in two primary ways:
Spending by Agency: Allows users to compare each agency’s annual budget with actual spending to date.
Spending by Fund: Allows users to examine how each fund contributes to the City’s overall operating budget and track spending within individual funds throughout the year.
“Since becoming Budget Chair, transparency has been one of my top priorities. I was excited to partner with the CAO’s office to give individuals real time access to budget data,” said Budget Chair Lesli Harris. “This dashboard gives every resident the ability to see, in real time, exactly how their tax dollars are being spent across every City department. I want to thank my team, especially Dominique Lang Jackson, for the work that went into pushing for a tool that finally makes City spending accessible and understandable to the public. Government works best when people can see it working.”

The launch of the Real-Time Budget to Actuals Dashboard represents another milestone in the Moreno Administration’s broader effort to strengthen financial management and implement best practices in government transparency. By providing timely, accessible financial information, the Administration continues its work to improve accountability and reinforce sound fiscal practices across City government.
