NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission has opened the application period in search of a new Chief Executive Officer. Following a request for proposals for qualified firms, the NORD Foundation has selected AMCorp International to assist in the executive search. The NORD Commission is seeking a collaborative, visionary leader with strong communication skills and a heart for New Orleans to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer. Under the policy direction of the NORD Commission, the CEO will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing NORD’s employees and programs; overseeing the development, implementation, and administration of NORD policies, programs, and facilities; managing daily operations; ensuring the effective maintenance and operation of recreation facilities, including outdoor athletic and recreation centers; coordinating with community organizations and partner agencies; helping build financial and strategic support for NORD; and providing comprehensive information and support to the Commission. The CEO works in conjunction with the Executive Director of the NORD Foundation.
Qualified applicants must have:
- A minimum of five years of supervisory experience in the administration of a parks and recreation department or sports organization.
- Experience with facilities, operations, and leading professional staff and teams to higher levels of performance.
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
