ALGIERS — It may be hot outside, but Old Algiers merchants are offering cool promotions for the Saturday, July 25, Christmas in July event. It’s the perfect time to pick up holiday gift items and have a good time.
Special offers – mostly in air-conditioned spaces – include sales, discounts and special items at places such as Bargeboard, Beatrix Bell Handcrafted, Congregation Coffee, Drift inn Diner, Eclectic Lemonade Boutique, Nighthawk Pizza, NOMAD Used Book Store, The Little House, Plume Algiers, Eye Luster Photography, Mind Body Collective/Indigo Coaching, Da’ Hot Box BBQ, and Faubourg Fresh Market.
Plus, if you use a shopping passport, available on Saturday from any participating merchant, you will be eligible to enter a raffle for a gift basket with gift cards and merchandise from Old Algiers businesses. No purchase is required, but the card must have eight stamps to enter.
Those not in the Old Algiers area can drive in from Gen. de Gaulle Drive or ride the ferry from downtown for $2 each way. Most of the locations are walkable from the ferry, which is running despite construction on the terminal.
