NEW ORLEANS – United Way of Southeast Louisiana (United Way SELA) and Ochsner Health will publicly launch the United Way HandsOn Volunteer Center with two family-friendly community service projects in New Orleans and on the Northshore.
Ochsner is joining forces with the Volunteer Center through sponsorship for the upcoming year, helping mobilize volunteers to support healthier, more resilient communities across Southeast Louisiana. The two share the partnership connects United Way’s community-driven approach with Ochsner’s purpose to serve, heal and strengthen the communities it calls home.
The New Orleans kickoff at The 18th Ward will include fence painting, staining picnic tables and benches, litter abatement and other community beautification projects.
The Northshore Kickoff at Rainbow Child Care Center in Slidell will offer opportunities to spruce up outdoor green space, clean and organize classrooms and paint areas of the playground.
Both kickoff events will include projects for all ages. The public can register at UnitedWaySELA.org/Volunteer.
