New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute’s Cooking for a Cause Set for September 23, 2026

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute (NOCHI) is proud to announce Hancock Whitney as the Presenting Sponsor of its annual fundraising event, Cooking for a Cause, Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at NOCHI, 725 Howard Avenue, New Orleans. Hancock Whitney’s continued partnership and support underscores their ongoing commitment to the region’s culinary and hospitality industry and a new generation of aspiring chefs and bakers who will shape the future of New Orleans’ culinary and hospitality legacy.

Cooking for a Cause presented by Hancock Whitney is a two-week, online silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind curated experiences and culminating in a soiree overlooking the city. Chairwomen, Julie Livaudais George and Ellie George, are planning a spectacular evening featuring live music, libations, and exceptional cuisine crafted by NOCHI alumni chefs. The online auction will offer dozens of exclusive experiences, including private cooking and mixology classes, intimate dinner parties, luxury staycations, and much more—all hosted by some of the most celebrated names in hospitality.

This year’s event will also honor two champions of culinary education and hospitality: the Emeril Lagasse Foundation and NOCHI Board Member Kathy Hebert. Through their leadership, philanthropy, and dedication to workforce development, both honorees have played a significant role in expanding opportunities for students pursuing careers in culinary and hospitality.

Proceeds from the event and auction help NOCHI deliver accessible high-quality education and programs in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry Arts, and Hospitality that inspire and support learners at all levels.

“Hancock Whitney’s support has been integral to the success of Cooking for a Cause,” said Gerald Duhon, President & CEO of NOCHI. “Our shared values in cultivating workforce development are evident through this years-long partnership, bolstering our mission of providing accessible, high-quality education and programs for aspiring hospitality professionals.”

Hancock Whitney has long been recognized for its dedication to fostering economic growth, education, and community well-being through strategic partnerships and philanthropic efforts. By supporting NOCHI’s Cooking for a Cause, Hancock Whitney continues its tradition of strengthening an industry that is integral to New Orleans’ economy and cultural identity.

“Hospitality remains at the heart of New Orleans’ culture and a driving force in our regional economy,” said Liz Hefler, Greater New Orleans Regional President of Hancock Whitney Bank. “NOCHI students are stepping into that legacy with creativity and purpose, helping shape what the industry becomes next. Hancock Whitney is proud to continue supporting NOCHI, its students, and an event that reflects the flavor that defines our city.”
