Lighthouse Louisiana Celebrates 111 Years of Empowering Louisianans with Disabilities

NEW ORLEANSLighthouse Louisiana celebrated 111 years of service, empowerment and community impact on June 12 with a special anniversary event attended by staff, clients, supporters, board members and community partners.

The celebration began with a lively performance by the All For One Brass Band for our youth summer campers. Guests then came together to honor the organization’s remarkable legacy with remarks from CEO Dee Budgewater and Board Chair Connie Bellone. Congressman Troy Carter’s office also presented a proclamation recognizing Lighthouse Louisiana’s 111 years of service to the community.

A highlight of the event was hearing inspiring testimonials from Production Manager Horace Grayson and clients Sarah and Keith Begbie, who shared the powerful impact Lighthouse Louisiana has had on their family and their daughter, Rini. Their heartfelt stories left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance and served as a powerful reminder of the organization’s commitment to empowering individuals and creating opportunities for success and independence.

The celebration concluded with cake, music, and fellowship as attendees reflected on more than a century of empowering individuals and strengthening the community. As Lighthouse Louisiana marks this milestone anniversary, the organization looks forward to continuing its mission of service, empowerment, and inclusion for generations to come.
