Library Foundation of New Orleans Expands New Orleans East Booksale

NEW ORLEANS – The Library Foundation of New Orleans is expanding its popular used book sale in East New Orleans, bringing thousands of affordable books to the East New Orleans Regional Library for a two-day event on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11.

Following a successful sale in East New Orleans last year, the foundation has added an extra day to accommodate growing community interest and offer shoppers an even larger selection of books. The sale will be open to the public, and cash, credit cards, and Venmo will be accepted.

Shoppers can browse a selection of over 5,000 gently used books, including children’s books, fiction, nonfiction, local interest titles, graphic novels, cookbooks, history, biography, romance, mystery, travel and more.

“When we saw how many readers came out last year, expanding the sale to two days was an easy decision,” said Booksales Coordinator Drew Brinkman. “The additional day gives us the opportunity to put more books into the hands of more readers while raising vital support for the programs and services that make our libraries such an important resource.”

Children’s books will start at just $2, and most other titles will be priced at $4 or less, making the sale an affordable opportunity for readers of all ages to build their personal libraries.

“One of the most rewarding parts of these sales is watching someone discover a book they never expected to find,” Brinkman said. “Every purchase helps support the Library, but it also gives a donated book a new life with a new reader.”
