Guest Chef Wiley Wilkinson Lewis Join NOMA for Salon Supper Club: “A Surreal Summer”

NEW ORLEANSThe New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) announced the return of the popular Salon Supper Club Presented by First Horizon Bank along with the details of the first event scheduled for this summer.

On Thursday, July 16, NOMA hosts a lively cocktail event with a menu crafted by Wiley Wilkinson Lewis, Chef of Delacroix, which opened last year as the only standalone restaurant on New Orleans’s riverfront.

With the theme “A Surreal Summer,” the menu and night’s events will find inspiration in NOMA’s collection of Surrealist art including standout 20th-century works by Joan Miró, Dorothea Tanning, Ilse Bing, Lee Miller, and many others.

“The Salon Supper Club has become a new signature opportunity for guests to connect with the museum and our collection and exhibitions,” said Susan M. Taylor, The Montine McDaniel Freeman director of NOMA. “We are grateful to Chef Lewis, Delacroix, and BRG Hospitality for their enthusiasm, and we are thankful to First Horizon Bank for their ongoing partnership, which makes this event possible.”

Launched in 2025, NOMA’s Salon Supper Club invites guest chefs to collaborate with the museum on unique experiences highlighting exhibitions and works on view. Guests can expect a one-night-only thematic menu served at progressive food stations, live music, inventive sets from DJ Brice Nice, aura photography, artmaking, and Surrealism-inspired activations throughout the museum.

“Surrealism invites you to see familiar things in unexpected ways, and that idea became the starting point for this menu,” said Chef Wiley Wilkinson Lewis of Delacroix. “At Delacroix, we draw inspiration from the river, the seasons and the rich culinary traditions of New Orleans. For this experience at NOMA, we’re translating that inspiration into each course, creating dishes that are playful, imaginative and designed to flow seamlessly with the art around them.”

In addition to the July 16 event, NOMA will host a seated dinner on Thursday, Oct. 15, timed with the forthcoming exhibition Second Nature: Japanese Rinpa Paintings from the Gitter-Yelen Collection. The guest chef for the October event will be announced this summer.

This year’s event chairs for both events are Amy and Garrison Neill and Lindsay and Peter Falconer, who have worked closely with NOMA Volunteer Committee Chair Jennifer Rowland. All funds raised during the Salon Supper Club provide critical resources to exhibitions, educational initiatives, and programming at NOMA.

Last year, the museum introduced the Salon Supper Club with a roster of acclaimed guest chefs: E.J. Lagasse, NOMA trustee and chef patron of Emeril’s, which recently received two Michelin stars; Serigne Mbaye, co-owner and chef of Dakar NOLA, which won the 2024 James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant; and Alfredo Nogueira, Chef-Partner of Cane & Table and VALS, and Executive Chef of Cure. Additional support for all Salon Supper Club events is provided by Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group.

“NOMA is a cornerstone institution for the arts in New Orleans, and First Horizon Bank is honored to support their work as presenting sponsor of the Salon Supper Club,” said Tony Adams, NOMA Trustee and regional president – Gulf States at First Horizon Bank. “We hope this event sparks exciting new connections with NOMA now and for many years to come.”
