NEW ORLEANS – Birdy’s will partner with Hot Dog Safari – an annual, multi-day restaurant/chef competition that raises money to fight hunger and fund local food assistance programs – to host a hot dog cook-off competition July 18 on the outdoor patio, bringing together 6–8 restaurant teams from across New Orleans to showcase their signature hot dog creations.
Guests will have the opportunity to sample offerings from each participating vendor and cast their vote for a favorite using an official scorecard. The winning team will earn a featured spot on next year’s Hot Dog Safari.
In addition to the competition, the event will feature a curated selection of local dry goods vendors, including art, clothing and trinkets, as well as live entertainment, with programming details to be announced. As part of the event’s community impact, Latter Hospitality will donate 10% of bar sales from 3–7 p.m. to Toups Family Meal – Chef Isaac and Amanda Toups nonprofit dedicated to feeding underserved children in New Orleans. Participating restaurant teams are also being encouraged to contribute 10% of their sales, creating a collective giveback effort that supports local families in need.
