BK House Shares May 2026 Events in The French Quarter

NEW ORLEANS – Along with blooming flowers, everything is coming up fun at the French Quarter’s historic house, beginning with a heartwarming family event on Saturday, May 9, from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Parterre Garden.

Celebrate Mom! gives kiddos a chance to make a special gift for Mom with cyanotype print making, Mother’s Day card creation, and plant pod painting, along with refreshments.

Dining by Design returns to the Historic BK House & Gardens on Sunday, May 17, for an elegant evening of creative tablescapes, exceptional cuisine, libations, music and delightful conversation from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

The annual Salon will be a highlight of BK’s Bicentennial celebration and will showcase imaginative tablescapes and florals created by leading designers and tastemakers, including Chad Graci, Keith Carroll, Maria Wink Meyers, Kim Starr Wise, Vesta Fort, Rebecca Singley, Rebekah Founds, Ware Porter, Victoria Fager, Celeste Marshall, Maureen Stevens Design and others.

Accompanied by exceptional cuisine, libations, and music by violinist Abraham Santos Fernandez, Dining by Design celebrates 200 years of style, stories and sophistication.

The annual event is sponsored in part by Element and Pigeon Catering & Events.  Dining by Design 2026 is co-chaired by Randle Looney and Colleen Connor. Proceeds will directly support the preservation and restoration of BK’s art, textiles, and ephemera.

Honoring BK’s literary history, The Author George S. Corey and The Artist Cleo will host a Garden Party in the Parterre Garden on Wednesday, May 20, from 5-6:30 p.m. to formally celebrate their new kids’ book ghost-hunter trilogy set in the French Quarter.Learn more about the passion behind Georgie and GiGi’s adventures in The Mardi Gras Mystery, The Voodoo Queen of New Orleans, and The Missing Maid at a festive book signing, complete with champagne, juice and treats.

Back by popular demand, BK welcomes a spring Rhythm & Roses Concert on Wednesday, May 27, when t marie and bayou juju perform in the beautiful gardens at 1113 Chartres Street from 6-8 p.m.  Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $15 for nonmembers; $10 for members and may be purchased at www.bkhouse.org.
