NEW ORLEANS – The team at Urban South Brewery is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special weekend dedicated to honoring a decade of craft beer, culture and community impact. The festivities begin on Friday, March 27, with a live concert featuring Sweet Crude and Lost Bayou Ramblers, followed by a street-closure block party on Saturday, March 28.
Founded in 2016, Urban South Brewery opened at a pivotal moment for Louisiana craft beer. Built on the belief that beer should be bold, approachable and rooted in community, the brewery quickly became one of the fastest-growing craft operations in the state. Over the past decade, Urban South has created more than 85 local jobs and donated more than $1 million in retail value of beer to community organizations, festivals and nonprofit partners throughout New Orleans.
“From the start, we wanted Urban South to reflect the creativity, welcoming spirit and community of New Orleans,” said Jacob Landry, co-founder of Urban South Brewery. “Ten years later, we’re proud to celebrate not just our beer, but the people all around us that made this all possible through their unwavering support.”
Known for bold IPAs, fruit-infused beers and easy-drinking lagers, Urban South has built a loyal following while expanding its distribution into five states, including Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida and Mississippi. As the brewery enters its second decade, Urban South remains focused on strategic growth throughout the Southeast while continuing to invest in its home base. With expanded distribution and new market opportunities, the goal is to become a leading craft brewery across the country without losing the community-driven foundation that built the brand.
On Friday, March 27, the anniversary weekend kicks off with a 21+ live concert at the taproom. Doors open at 5 p.m., with Sweet Crude taking the stage at 8 p.m., followed by Lost Bayou Ramblers at 10 p.m.
The celebration continues on Saturday, March 28, with an all-day, family-friendly street-closure block party. Guests can expect limited throwback beer releases, including Delta Momma and Triple Spilled, a local vendor market, carnival rides, traditional and Viet-style crawfish, Urban Smash burgers and live performances from live music throughout the day.
