Tails But No Black Tie Brings Grand Prix Equestrian Sport to City Park

NEW ORLEANS – City Park Conservancy and Equest Farm invite the community to an evening of equestrian excellence at Tails But No Black Tie, taking place Saturday, March 21, at Equest Farm in City Park. This lively event combines world-class horse sport, entertainment, and family-friendly activities, all benefiting the missions of City Park Conservancy and Equest Farm.

Guests will enjoy a night of exceptional equestrian showmanship, featuring some of the best Grand Prix horses and riders in the country showcasing speed, athleticism, and precision as they compete over challenging jumps. The evening will also feature special guest horseman Guy McLean, internationally known for his remarkable horsemanship and captivating demonstrations.

“Partnerships are at the heart of what makes City Park such a special place,” said Rebecca Dietz, chief executive officer of City Park Conservancy. “Working with Equest Farm and the equestrian community allows us to bring exciting events like Tails But No Black Tie to the Park while supporting programs that inspire connection, recreation, and stewardship.”

Located within City Park, Equest Farm is New Orleans’ premier equestrian center, offering a unique setting where visitors can step through the gates and feel transported from the city to a beautiful country estate.

“We’re proud to welcome the community to experience the excitement and beauty of equestrian sport right here in City Park,” said Leslie Kramer, owner and operator of Equest Farm. “Tails But No Black Tie is a celebration of the incredible horses, riders, and supporters who make this community so special, and we’re thrilled to partner with City Park Conservancy to share that experience with New Orleans.”

Grandstand ticket holders will enjoy a catered dinner, open bar, and premium viewing of the Grand Prix. General admission guests can experience riding displays, food trucks, cash bars, and the Zoo 2 U Petting Zoo before gathering for the evening’s highlight — the Grand Prix competition.

Guests will also have the opportunity to explore the grounds, view the horses, and meet riders. The program features equestrian riding displays before culminating with the Grand Prix, where top horses and riders compete in a thrilling display of speed, precision, and horsemanship.

Proceeds from Tails But No Black Tie support the work of City Park Conservancy and Equest Farm, which provides equestrian programs and training in the heart of City Park. Tickets and additional event information are available at NewOrleansCityPark.org.
