Students pursuing careers in construction, architecture, and engineering invited to apply — deadline March 20, 2026
METAIRIE — The Palmisano Foundation today announced that scholarship applications for the 2026–27 academic year are now open, offering financial support to high-achieving students committed to careers in construction, architecture, engineering, and related industry trade skills. The application window runs through March 20, 2026, with separate tracks available for two-year trade school and four-year university students.
The Palmisano Foundation Scholarship was established to invest in the next generation of professionals who will shape the built environment — recognizing that the Gulf Coast’s continued growth depends on a skilled, passionate, and diverse workforce. Beyond financial assistance, recipients gain industry recognition and access to mentorship from experienced construction professionals.
“We believe that removing financial barriers for talented, driven students is one of the most meaningful investments we can make in our industry and our community,” said Sherry Serio, Palmisano Foundation Director. “These scholarships aren’t just about tuition — they’re about connecting the next generation to a profession they can be proud of.”
Eligible applicants include incoming college freshmen, current trade school or university students, and high school students who have received a letter of acceptance from an accredited institution. Candidates must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and demonstrate both financial need and a commitment to their chosen field.
Eligibility requirements include:
- Pursuing a degree or credential in construction, architecture, engineering, or a related trade skill in welding, electrical, carpentry, HVAC and plumbing
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (current and maintained)
- Letter of acceptance from a state-accredited university, trade school, or community college
- Demonstrated financial need
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and commitment to making a positive impact
Two application tracks are available — one for students enrolled in a two-year trade school or community college program, and one for students at a four-year university. Both tracks share the same deadline of March 20, 2026.
