BATON ROUGE – The Jefferson Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Evening at the Legislature, presented by Peoples Health, on Wednesday, March 11, at the headquarters of the Louisiana Association of Business & Industry (LABI) in Baton Rouge.
The annual event brings together leaders from Jefferson Parish’s business community with state policymakers and public officials to discuss the legislative issues impacting Jefferson Parish, the regional economy and the broader Louisiana business climate. Evening at the Legislature also provides attendees with valuable insight into the legislative process and the status of key policy initiatives under consideration during the current legislative session.
More than 80 business professionals and community leaders attended this year’s event, which featured a legislative briefing and policy discussion led by LABI President and CEO Will Green and Louisiana State Superintendent of Education Dr. Cade Brumley. Discussions focused on major legislative priorities for the upcoming session, including economic competitiveness, workforce development, education progress and policies impacting Louisiana’s business environment.
Attendees also received updates on policy priorities impacting Jefferson Parish and the region’s economic growth, reinforcing the Jefferson Chamber’s mission of Strengthening Business and Enriching the Community through advocacy, connection and growth.
Following the briefing, guests participated in a networking reception with members of the Jefferson Parish Legislative Delegation, providing an opportunity for direct engagement between lawmakers and the local business community. The reception was attended by numerous elected officials representing Jefferson Parish and the state.
