NEW ORLEANS – Since opening in November 2025, Mid-City’s European-inspired neighborhood bistro Charmant has earned a following for its modern bistro fare and wine-driven hospitality. Now, the restaurant is pleased to debut its outdoor patio, expanded brunch service Wednesday through Monday, and Happy Hour offerings. Located at 514 City Park Ave., the Charmant team continues to evolve as an all-day gathering place, reflecting owners Chris and Bonnie Borges’ vision of a restaurant that adapts naturally to the pace of its neighborhood.
Available Wednesday through Monday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Charmant’s brunch menu is said to blend European café traditions with bold New Orleans flavors. Guests can begin the day with pastries and coffee before settling into dishes such as the Avocado & Gravlax Toast with house citrus cured salmon, beets, and curry mousseline; Croque Madame with truffle salami and fontina; Heirloom Grains with quinoa, freekeh, sorghum, brassica, kale, mascarpone, and soft-boiled egg in a brown butter vinaigrette; Fried Brussels Sprouts Salad with lima beans, golden raisins, sourdough croutons and cardamom yogurt with an apple cider vinaigrette; and The Phomo, a creative homage to the space’s culinary past, featuring star anise–braised short rib grillades and sunny egg over rice grits.
New brunch cocktails including the Bacon Bloody Mary made with bacon fat–washed vodka and housemade mix; Bittersweet Symphony with Cynar, Campari, vanilla simple, and cold brew topped with whipped cream; the clarified Parfait Milk Punch with granola-infused rum and persimmon strawberry syrup; and the Morning Jam Session, featuring pecan-infused bourbon, lime, triple sec, and housemade apple butter.
The restaurant’s new specialty coffee program features locally sourced Applied Arts espresso (regular and decaf), housemade coffee and chicory cold brew, and house syrups including ginger, salted caramel, orgeat, lavender, and rose water for specialty coffee and tea drinks.
The early opening hours are designed to welcome a wide range of guests, from neighborhood regulars and remote workers to City Park visitors seeking a relaxed start to the day. “From the beginning, we imagined Charmant as a place people could stop at throughout their day,” says Chris Borges. “Opening at 8 a.m. gives neighbors a place to start their day, whether that’s coffee and pastries, brunch with friends, or simply a comfortable space to grab a bite before the day picks up.”
Following brunch, Charmant transitions into Happy Hour daily from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., offering a curated selection of wines by the glass, signature cocktails, and chef-driven bites. The program highlights $7 house wines-by-the-glass and select cocktails, including Old Fashioned, Aperol Spritz, Negroni, French 75, Sidecar, Sangria, as well as creative libations including Cucumber Collins and Kentucky Royalty – a riff on a Kentucky mule with bourbon, crème de cassis, lemon, and ginger beer. Bites are also only $7 and include Wagyu Slider, Lamb Meatballs, Savory Bread Pudding, an elevated Grilled Cheese made with croissant, camembert, Asian pear, berry jam, and pickled onion, along with a selection of cheese and charcuterie.
Charmant is located at 514 City Park Avenue. The restaurant is open Wednesday – Monday (closed Tuesday) and serves Brunch from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.; Happy Hour 2 – 5 p.m.; and Dinner 5 – 10 p.m. Reservations and menus are available at www.charmantnola.com.
