NEW ORLEANS – September 2025: Scotland’s fastest-growing independent whisky bottler, Saltire Rare Malt, has chosen New Orleans – and the iconic Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse – for its landmark U.S. debut. In collaboration with the Steak House Hall of Fame, Saltire’s ultra-rare, single-cask Scotch whiskies will be the exclusive single malt poured at Dickie Brennan’s, where world-class steaks and Louisiana flavors have defined hospitality for generations.
For decades, the Brennan family has set the standard for New Orleans dining, blending tradition, innovation, and a deep sense of place. Now, that legacy welcomes a new chapter. From Falkland, Fife – the birthplace of Scotch whisky over 530 years ago – to the French Quarter, Saltire’s arrival is more than an expansion. It is a cultural meeting of equals: Scotland’s rarest malts joining America’s most storied dining traditions.
RARE SCOTCH, LEGENDARY STEAKHOUSES
Saltire Rare Malt is renowned for curating distinctive, limited-edition single malts, each drawn from a single cask and bottled only when its expert curators judge the spirit to have reached its peak. Guiding this process are Hans and Becky Offringa – known internationally as The Whisky Couple – whose unparalleled expertise ensures that only the most exceptional casks earn the Saltire name.
Among Saltire’s most prized releases are whiskies drawn from lost distilleries, never to be repeated and destined to become true collector’s treasures. For the first time, whisky lovers and collectors in New Orleans will be able to savor these remarkable bottlings on U.S. soil. Launch expressions include Speyside Cask Strength, Tormore, and Teaninich, each available exclusively at Steak House Hall of Fame venues – a pairing of rare Scotch and legendary steakhouse tradition.

A SHARED PHILOSOPHY
The Steak House Hall of Fame, founded by Bob Sambol of the Original Bob’s Steak & Chop House in Dallas, honors the families, owners and operators who put their heart, soul, and reputation into every meal served. These legendary steakhouses are defined by the finest offerings, exemplary service, and rich history – values that continue to shape America’s steakhouse tradition.
Saltire Rare Malt reflects that same philosophy. The independent bottling company was founded by longtime friends Nigel Heywood and Keith Rennie, whose partnership spans more than three decades. Their shared passion for whisky led them to collect fine and rare single malts, eventually inspiring the creation of Saltire Rare Malt. Today, their commitment to heritage and craft brings Scotland’s rarest whiskies together with America’s most iconic steakhouses, creating a timeless experience for a new generation.
