NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Yoga Festival (NOYF) launches its inaugural edition this fall, bringing – what organizers share is – four transformative days of yoga, music, wellness, and education to the heart of our city. Hosted by the New Orleans Yoga Club (@nolayogaclub) – a new community initiative founded by yoga and fitness instructor Mark Berger and local musician and yoga teacher Caroline Chiesa – NOYF will take place from Sept. 25–28 at Republic NOLA & ARORA NOLA, located in the Arts & Warehouse District.
This first-of-its-kind festival blends ancient wisdom with New Orleans’ soulful, vibrant spirit, offering something for everyone—from seasoned practitioners to those who’ve never taken a yoga class. The weekend is designed as a welcoming gateway into yoga, with opportunities to move, reflect, connect, heal, and learn.
Festival highlights include:
● Yoga, dance, and movement classes for all levels of experience
● Live music, immersive sound healing journeys, and DJ sets
● Reiki, Thai massage, chiropractic adjustments, and wellness therapies
● A vibrant marketplace of local artisans, brands, and holistic practitioners
● Community talks on health & wellness, Ayurveda, yogic philosophy, and conscious living
● Education for all levels–from beginner to advanced
In an effort to benefit the community, NOYF is partnered with and benefits:
Shuck Cancer-Access to Care Grant Program benefiting Louisiana health systems by providing their patients transportation & lodging assistance
Split Second Foundation-delivers comprehensive care, resources, education and advocacy to those affected by disabilities, promoting independent living and enhancing their quality of life.
Yeah! Yoga- bringing yoga & mindfulness to kids in the GNO affected by incarceration
Nirman Varanasi – serving India and a world where girls and boys of all backgrounds can learn equally and excellently, leaders of their worlds, their lives rich with the arts.
“Yoga is so much more than just a physical practice–it’s a roadmap to resilience and deep inner peace,” says co-founder Caroline Chiesa. “We wanted to create a weekend where everyone feels welcome to explore yogic philosophy and experience different forms of healing, beyond just the physical practice we are most familiar with in the West. Our goal is to create something completely inclusive, regardless of their background or body.”
“New Orleans has one of the richest and most unique cultures in the U.S., but that often gets overshadowed by overindulgence and unhealthy habits,” says co-founder Mark Berger. “We created NOYF to celebrate the true spirit of this city: by blending our signature funk with conscious yogic practices and holistic living.”
