NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Film Society (NOFS), producers of the Oscar-qualifying New Orleans Film Festival (NOFF, Oct. 23–27), is set to partner with The Broad Theatre to present an exclusive advance screening of “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.” Organizers share this event, featuring star Harry Shearer in person, marks the first major public program leading into this year’s festival and sets the stage for a month-long celebration of bold, unforgettable cinema in New Orleans.
NEW ORLEANS FILM SOCIETY & THE BROAD THEATRE PARTNER TO BRING SPINAL TAP II: THE END CONTINUES TO NEW ORLEANS AUDIENCES, COURTESY OF BLEECKER STREET FILMS AND NEW ORLEANS ADOPTED SON AND STAR HARRY SHEARER
On the eve of its nationwide release, “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues,” which was filmed in New Orleans with local crew and talent, will screen at The Broad Theater, with the one-and-only Harry Shearer in attendance (Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders, Derek Smalls, etc.)
Post film screening, co-writer and actor Harry Shearer will sit down for an on-stage conversation and Q&A with New Orleans native and Pulitzer Prize-winning music and culture journalist for the Times-Picayune, Keith Spera.
NOFS says: Harry Shearer’s love and commitment to New Orleans brings his much-anticipated film to our city and to the NOFS audience first. Harry chose to share this special night with the city of New Orleans and The New Orleans Film Society hopes you will share it with us. This event also kicks off the countdown to the 2025 New Orleans Film Festival (October 23–27), produced annually by the New Orleans Film Society. Don’t miss this rare and unique evening with Harry Shearer, who loves this city as much as you do.
HARRY SHEARER:
“I could’ve been anywhere in the world for this premiere. London. Los Angeles. A backstage deli tray in Cleveland. But I chose New Orleans because this city gets the joke and knows how to play along.”
KEITH SPERA:
“Harry Shearer’s wit is as sharp as his characters are unforgettable. To unpack Spinal Tap with him, on a New Orleans stage, is my idea of a conversation worth cranking up.”
