Louisiana Walks for Parkinson’s Returns to Lafreniere Park October 11th

NEW ORLEANS – The Parkinson’s community will come together on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Lafreniere Park (3000 Downs Blvd.) for Louisiana Walks for Parkinson’s, benefiting the Parkinson’s Foundation and its mission to make life better for people living with Parkinson’s disease through improved care and advancing research toward a cure. Registration opens at 9 a.m., and the walk (which is optional) begins at 11 a.m.

This year’s event will feature a silent auction, parade of prizes, live music, food and beverages (including beer and wine), and a kids’ corner, plus on-site resources for people with Parkinson’s and their care partners. Participants can also purchase Liquor Wagon and Parade of Prizes raffle tickets, with all proceeds fueling local programs and national research.

“Louisiana Walks for Parkinson’s is about community, hope, and action,” said Michelle Lane, event founder and Parkinson’s Foundation Ambassador. “Every dollar raised helps people live better with Parkinson’s today, while pushing research closer to tomorrow’s breakthroughs.”
