NEW ORLEANS – New Orleanians of all ages are invited to join Cox Communications and the Louisiana Children’s Museum(LCM) for Environmental Rescue 2025, an interactive day of fun and learning focused on sustainability. This year’s event will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Louisiana Children’s Museum.
LCM shares that Environmental Rescue 2025 invites families to explore eco-friendly activities designed to spark curiosity and inspire action. This year’s event is packed with hands-on activities, special guest appearances and featured recycling stations to empower families to become active participants in protecting our planet.
“This Environmental Rescue is more than just an event. It’s an opportunity to show children that sustainability can be fun, creative and impactful. It also instills great environmental-friendly practices that they can use long-term,” said Tifferney White, CEO of the Louisiana Children’s Museum. “We want families to walk away feeling empowered to make small changes that have a big impact on our planet.”
Meet & Greets with PAW Patrol’s Rocky and Skye
Paw Patrol’s, Rocky, the recycling pup, and Skye, the aerial rescue pup, will be available for special meet-and-greet photo opportunities throughout the day. Appearances will run from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Special E-cycling Event
The event will also feature a special opportunity for recycling small electronics. The public is invited to responsibly recycle a wide range of items, including desktops/laptops, mobile phones, modems/routers, TV/stereo remotes, small electronics toys or games and computer accessories like keyboards and monitors. Drop-off will be available in LCM’s bus loading zone from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets and Museum access are not required to participate in electronic recycling. Please note that CRT monitors and large appliances will not be accepted.

Guests can dive into a variety of engaging, eco-friendly activities designed to make learning fun. Activities include transforming old electronics into new works of art in the Recycled Art Lab; exploring how to compost and garden; building a metropolis in Cardboard City; learning about recycling with a satisfying “CRUNCH,” through the Crush Your Cans station; and recyclable sorting for tots, a colorful sorting game for young children. Community partners IV Waste, and Hey! Café New Orleans will be on site with recycling and composting demonstrations.
