COVINGTON – The Three Rivers Art Festival will return to Covington’s Cultural Arts District for its 29th year on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 15 & 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free!
Each year, Three Rivers draws 50,000+ art lovers to Downtown Covington to shop the work of talented artists from all over the United States, including many from the Greater New Orleans area. Over the past two decades, shares organizers, Three Rivers has grown from a celebration of 49 artists to more than 200 exhibitors and a variety of other features including a live music tent, live art demonstrations, local food vendors and a children’s activity area. Spread across five city blocks of Columbia Street, the festival features artist tents with work ranging from painting to metalwork and everything in between. The festival also hosts a student art competition featuring more than 400 works of art created by talented local youth, inspiring and encouraging children of all ages to experiment with and create art.
“Three Rivers is truly a showcase of many of the most talented and innovative artists in the country, including many from here at home,” said Three Rivers Art Festival Board Member Sarada Bonnett. “All the artwork is juried, which makes for an incredible show in terms of quality, originality and diversity. Combine that with our world-class food, music and free family entertainment, and you’ve got an unforgettable weekend with something for everyone!”
This year’s culinary and cocktail showcase features local vendors such as Turgeau’s, Rue Chow, Tacos Y Birria, Flyin’ Pig, Creole Tomateaux, Coffee Rani, Kiwanis of Covington, Grandma’s Kettle Corn, The Nuttery, Geaux Mobile Bar, Southern Belle Mobile Bar, Cliff’s Cocktails and more. And once again, the festival’s Children’s Area will feature a number of free activities for the whole family, with vendors including St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Grayhawk Perkins, Culinary Kids, Limitless Chiropractic, Ballet Apetrei, Painting with Rika, St. Tammany Library, and St. Tammany Mosquito Abatement.
Additionally, Three Rivers will once again host the artist awards party and a free public concert at the Covington Trailhead (419 N. New Hampshire St.) on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature Tyler Kinchen & The Right Pieces.
The 2025 festival poster artist is Rachael Lagarde Walker, a surrealist artist and art educator from Covington, Louisiana. Her artistic forte is watercolor painting, and she has devoted the past fourteen years of her life to perfecting her craft from her studio in north Covington. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Art at Columbia University, and she teaches art to junior high students in the St. Tammany Public School System.
An exciting addition to the 2025 festival is the participation of Nashville-based artist, Jodi “Shen” Goldman-Hallford, who will be doing live art demonstrations inside the Arts Alive! tent. As the first female graffiti artist on the West Coast, she has continually pushed boundaries, transforming her signature style from the streets to prestigious galleries, large-scale mural projects, and private commissions worldwide.
