NEW ORLEANS — The U.S. Conference of Mayors’ mission is to promote the development of effective national urban policy, strengthen federal relationships, and advocate for policies that meet the needs of American cities.
Mayor LaToya Cantrell will continue her dedicated support of the Conference through her work and service as a member of the U.S. Conference of Mayors Board of Trustees and her leadership on key task force groups focused on building successful outcomes for cities.
Mayor Cantrell will be a lead speaker on multiple panels. While at the Conference, she will also call on fellow mayors to engage in initiative-driven dialogue aimed at standing up against violence and aggression toward national, state, and city political leaders.
Mayor Cantrell emphasized the importance of standing together for peaceful political discourse and rejecting any actions that threaten the safety of public officials and their families.
The Mayor will also extend invitations to the U.S. Conference of Mayors to attend the upcoming 20th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina in August in New Orleans.
Mayor Cantrell will return to New Orleans at the conclusion of the Conference.
