NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana SPCA hosted their second annual Carnival Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024. The event drew in animal lovers from across the city, and as a result the Louisiana SPCA was able to raise nearly $350,000. All proceeds from the event go toward the care of the 73,000 animals the shelter cares for annually.

“We are so thankful to everyone that attended our second annual Carnival,” said Ana Zorilla, CEO of the Louisiana SPCA. “Our work would not be possible without our presenting sponsor Bryan Subaru, the support of our community as well as our incredible board members, who played a big part in putting on this event.”

The event consisted of food from crowd-favorite food trucks such as Southern’s, Mo’ Fries and La Cocinita as well as a catered VIP section with New Orleans bites from Bachannal, Alma and The Chloe and more. Guests and their pets were entertained with performances from the Yellow Box Circus, Where Y’acht, Rebirth Brass Band and more. Attendees also had the chance to experience the full process of what an animal at the shelter goes through, in the “Journey of a Shelter Pet” immersive experience.

The adoption center was also open and 8 pets were given new homes with adoption fees being underwritten by Hahn Enterprises.

“Carnival for us is a way to bring people and pets together for a day of food, music and fun, all benefiting the animals we care for each and every day,” Zorilla said. “We look forward to Look forward to growing next year’s Carnival so we can help more pet families in our community.

Thanks to growing support from our community through Carnival and more, our doors are always open for pet families in need.”
