ST. BERNARD – The St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce announced the 10th Annual Tour da Parish Bike Ride, set for Saturday, Nov. 2. This event unites cyclists from across the country to experience the scenic beauty and vibrant culture of St. Bernard Parish.
Since its inception in 2015, the Tour da Parish has become a tradition providing participants with the chance to ride through picturesque landscapes on non-competitive routes ranging from 10 to 51 miles. Last year, over 300 cyclists participated, and even more are anticipated by event organizers for this special anniversary.
The ride will commence at the Los Islenos Heritage Site (1345 Bayou Rd, St. Bernard), with registration opening at 7 a.m. and staggered starts for each course. Riders can choose from 10-mile, 16-mile, 30-mile, or the 51-mile route. The 51-mile ride will kick off at 7:30 a.m., with other distances starting shortly thereafter. Cyclists will enjoy breathtaking views along the routes, including a ride down the road to the “End of the World” in Delacroix.
Following the ride, participants can look forward to the “End of the World Finish Fest” at Los Islenos, featuring food, fun and festivities. Special 10th-anniversary event T-shirts will be available for purchase as a keepsake. The Tour da Parish will conclude at noon.
“The 10th anniversary is a significant milestone for the Tour da Parish, and we are proud to celebrate how this event fosters community spirit,” says Rhett Pritchard, executive director of the St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce. “Our goal is to unite locals while also attracting visitors to explore the rich history, stunning scenery, and local businesses that St. Bernard has to offer.”
Mark your calendars for Saturday, Nov. 2 (rain date: Sunday, Nov. 3), and don’t miss out on this community event. Registration is now open! Ticket prices are currently $50 until Oct. 30 but will increase to $75 on the day of the ride.
