NEW ORLEANS — This week, Mayor LaToya Cantrell will travel to Washington, D.C. to join 150 global Chief Executive Officers and policy figures to participate in the Yale Mayors College and Chief Executive Leadership Institute. The caucus, themed “The Secondary Business Effects of the Primary Election Season: Lessons on Guiding Investor, Workforce, Customer, & Community Harmony,” will take place on Tuesday, March 5 and Wednesday, March 6.
Upon Mayor Cantrell’s return, she will continue the “Meeting Our People Where They Are” initiative with school visits and provide an update on the City’s “Dirty Dozen” blighted property remediation list.
During the caucus, Mayor Cantrell will participate in a panel discussion titled How Mayors Guide Communities Through Electoral Season.

Additional sessions will focus on the innovation, creation, and revival of economic development in cities, protecting community harmony through public safety before, during and after elections, and cyber and infrastructure reliability.
The invitation-only, 10th annual Yale Mayors College, is hosted by Professor Jeffrey Sonnenfeld of the Yale School of Management, and attendees will hear from U. S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan for an off-the-record candid dialogue about the global challenges communities are facing. Other speakers include Steve Benjamin, Senior Advisor to President Joseph Biden, Former Mayor of Columbia, SC and 76th President of the U. S. Conference of Mayors, among others.
The session will close with a presentation of the Yale Legend in Leadership Award to T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert.
