Program made possible through funding from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation
METAIRIE – Jefferson Ready Start Network (JRSN) and representatives from the Blue Cross Foundation gathered today to kick-off the first Jefferson Leadership Institute for Early Childhood Leadership cohort. The program is a collaboration of JRSN, Jefferson Community Foundation and Innovations in Education.
The Leadership Institute is a training program for early care and education leaders at JRSN early learning centers across the Parish. The institute aims to deliver job-embedded training and coaching to help early childhood leaders motivate and support teachers at their centers. The resulting goal of the training will be the elevation of quality of care at their centers.
“The early care and education sector is more than simply “child care” or “day care,” said JRSN Executive Director, Sarintha Stricklin, Ph.D. “It is an evolving industry with quality standards and metrics to track key child development milestones. This program will have a strong focus on organizational culture and also allow our leaders the opportunity to network and collaborate with each other.”
The Leadership Institute is a four-month cohort with topics including organizational culture, personal leadership styles, supporting children with challenging behaviors, coaching and business tips. The Blue Cross Foundation provided $100,000 to fund the pilot program.
