Hot Air Balloon Festival Takes Over NOLA Motorsports Park Jan. 19th & 20th

NEW ORLEANS – NOLA Motorsports Park has announced its inaugural Balloon Glow & Laser Show on Jan. 19 and 20, beginning at 5 p.m. The extraordinary family event promises a weekend filled with fun, entertainment, and the unique experience of hot air balloon rides. Taking place across the 30-acre facility, the outdoor festival will host an array of fun for all ages. Tickets can be purchased now at nolamotor.com/events/the-balloon-glow-laser-show/.

Balloon Glow & Laser Show is presented by Hot Air Balloon Management. The event will include the following entertainment:

Hot air balloon rides: Tethered balloon rides are a highlight, offered at $25 per person. Availability is weather-dependent and while supplies last.

  • Kids zone: Enjoy a dedicated area for children, featuring games and rides including trains, bounce houses, rock climbing, and more.
  • Live music: A variety of artists will provide live entertainment throughout the event featuring Dj Bambam Belonge.
  • Craft and retail vendors: Explore booths with a wide selection of crafts and retail items for sale.
  • Local food vendors: Sample a range of festival-style food options like funnel cakes, BBQ, creole, and much more.
  • Balloon Glow & Laser Show: Each night after dusk, around 9 p.m., the event will feature the long-awaited Hot Air Balloon Glow & Laser Show. This show includes music and a synchronized display of balloon burns and lasers, creating a stunning visual spectacle.

“We’re already off to a great start of 2024, where we’re utilizing our world-class facility to host out-of-the-box events for the community,” said David Pace, general manager of NOLA Motorsports Park. “We encourage New Orleans to join us for this family-friendly weekend event, whether you want to relax and enjoy the laser show or try an adventure with a hot air balloon ride.”

Tickets are limited, so early purchases for the Balloon Glow & Laser Show are advised. General admission begins at $10 for children and $20 for adults, with VIP packages available. New Orleans residents can visit the ticket link here and receive a special discount with promo code NOLA5 for $5 off ADULT tickets. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and umbrellas for a comfortable viewing.

Hours of operation for this attraction will begin at 5 p.m. with the Hot Air Balloon Glow & Laser Show kicking off at 9 p.m. For families who want to make an entire day out of the celebration, NOLA Motorsports Park’s facility will be open during regular hours on both Jan. 19 and 20. Axe-throwing and karting will be available on Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pricing begins at $20 for each activity.
