NEW ORLEANS – Feb. 1 is the deadline for area nonprofits to apply for community assistance grant funding of up to $20,000 from the Junior League of New Orleans for programs that seek to uplift and empower women. JLNO is celebrating 100 years of service to the region in 2024, and a part of that celebration includes investing $100,000 into the regional community through community assistance fund grant initiatives during the 2024 calendar year.
“The Junior League believes that every woman in Metropolitan New Orleans should have the opportunity to live a healthy, happy and successful life,” said Ashley Cangelosi Llewellyn, JL:NO president. “We are committed to advancing the well-being of women through the use of trained volunteers that provide direct service, educate the community, and advocate for issues that affect women.”
The Junior League of New Orleans Community Assistance Fund (CAF) awards grant dollars to regional nonprofit agencies in the following areas:
- Economic Opportunity – Supporting women’s potential to seize economic opportunities
- Physical and Mental Health – Improving women’s health, allowing them to live healthy and happy lives
- Family Assistance – Providing needed family support to alleviate the burdens on women caregivers
Community Assistance Fund grant requests may be made for up to $20,000.
Last year, Junior League community assistance grants helped fund impactful programs for women with Dress for Success New Orleans, First Grace Community Alliance for Hagar’s House, Jericho Road Episcopal Housing Initiative, Market Umbrella and Operation Restoration.
