NEW ORLEANS — Beloved Community is thrilled to announce the official launch of the Awa by Beloved Equity Tool Suite Certification Program, set to welcome its first cohort of the year in the Spring. This groundbreaking program is designed for DEI consultants and practitioners who share a deep commitment to nurturing and enriching communities through diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
Awa by Beloved, the first virtual DEI assessment tool tailored for the workplace, focuses on mutual accountability. It’s a versatile resource suitable for a diverse range of organizations, including non-profits, corporations, educational institutions, hospitals, and public agencies. The Awa Tool Suite features three critical components:
Equity Audit: A measurable tool for assessing organizational equity in institutional practices.
Equity Lens Map: An individual self-assessment providing insights into workplace experiences and capacity-building needs.
Equity Work Plan: A custom three-year roadmap fostering sustainable organizational equity.
The six-week virtual certification course offers comprehensive training in the Awa Tool Suite, equipping participants with the knowledge to effectively apply these tools in various professional settings. Successful completion grants a three-year certification, enabling practitioners to facilitate meaningful and long-term DEI changes within organizations.
“Awa by Beloved’s Equity Tool Suite truly gives people a framework to advance equity in a meaningful way,” said Erica Badowski, the Associate Director of Adult Learning at Beloved Community. “In sessions with our clients, I have seen the power of these tools in helping organizations review their data practices, set important goals, and track their progress. As we begin to expand the reach of these tools, we are so excited for equity experts to go through our certification program to learn about leveraging these tools within their own work to advance equity!”
Developed with academically rigorous standards, the Awa tools are research-validated and designed to yield substantial improvements in workplace and educational settings. Beloved Community’s commitment to racial and economic equity is exemplified through these innovative and psychometrically validated tools.
Don’t miss the opportunity to become a part of this transformative program. The next certification offering begins on March 18, 2024, and interested individuals are encouraged to RSVP as soon as possible.
