NEW ORLEANS – Boys Town Louisiana held the second annual Winter Fest last week at the Thrive Community Center in New Orleans.
Winter Fest began in 2022 as a special event to welcome families and youth within the Boys Town Early Head Start into the holiday season. This year, Boys Town expanded the invitation to the public and members of its My Community Cares program.
“The holiday time is a perfect time to reflect on our own blessings and seek ways to brighten others’ lives with joy,” says Boys Town Louisiana Executive Director Rashain Carriere. “Every family and child deserves to feel special this time of year, and with this event, we hope to extend that to all of the individuals and families we serve.”
Guests at Winter Fest were treated to an array of holiday spirit including face painting, bounce houses, cotton candy and even Santa Claus! Community organizations like New Orleans Parish Library also supported the event by providing resources to those in attendance.
