Tulane Grad Returns to NOLA to Share Philly Institution at New Oak Street location
NEW ORLEANS – Growing up, William Kulick always enjoyed visiting family and friends in Philadelphia, but one of his favorite memories included the pilgrimage to PrimoHoagies for his favorite Italian Diablo hoagie, complete with freshly sliced hot soppressata, sharp provolone cheese, and hot capicola on house-baked bread. Now the Tulane grad and longtime NOLA resident is bringing the flavor of Philly to New Orleans’ Oak Street with Louisiana’s first PrimoHoagies restaurant – opening November 30th.
Now with more than a hundred locations nationwide, PrimoHoagies was originally founded in 1992 in South Philadelphia, quickly becoming a beloved neighborhood institution known for classic Italian-style hoagies, juicy Philly cheesesteaks, and mouthwatering hot meatball sandwiches. Using recipes passed down through the generations, PrimoHoagies layers Thumann’s gourmet meats and cheeses, a secret blend of spices, and locally sourced, fresh vegetables onto award-winning, seeded rolls that are baked fresh throughout the day. The diverse menu features a variety of cold and hot hoagies, cheesesteaks, wraps, vegetarian options, antipasti salads, chips, drinks, fresh-baked cookies, and more. The full menu is available bowl-style for gluten-free diners.

The extensive catering menu features hoagie trays, meat and cheese platters, sides for any taste, and plenty of dessert options, perfect for office parties, birthdays, parade parties, homegating, or any other occasion to feed a crowd.
To celebrate New Orleans’ new favorite hoagie destination, PrimoHoagies is offering the first 100 customers* on Thursday, November 30, 2023, a free Primo Size Hoagie. For the rest of Grand Opening Day, customers who enroll in the rewards program will enjoy Primo Size Hoagies for just $6.99.
The 1,500-square-foot store located at 8228 Oak Street, New Orleans is expected to employ about 20 people, with dine-in seating, plus takeout, and delivery options. PrimoHoagies also offers catering, including its popular hoagie trays – perfect for special events, gameday, and luncheons.
