Governor’s Office Launches “56 for 56” to Highlight Progress Delivered Under Louisiana’s 56th Governor John Bel Edwards

BATON ROUGE — The Office of Governor John Bel Edwards launched “56 for 56,” a social media campaign that will highlight one signature accomplishment of Louisiana’s 56th governor every day for the 56 days remaining before the inauguration on January 8th.

“The Governor’s Office wants to highlight Louisiana’s remarkable achievements since 2016 as a way to say thank you to the hundreds of thousands of Louisianans of different political parties, regions, and races who came together to elect, support, and work with Gov. Edwards to improve our state,” said Governor’s Office Digital Director Tyler Walker. “The 56 for 56 campaign will help tell the story of what has been accomplished thanks to the hard work of so many of our people. We hope all Louisianans will follow along and join us in celebrating what’s possible when we put people over politics.”

The first post of the campaign is about the very first signature accomplishment of the Edwards administration, delivered on the Governor’s first day in office—Medicaid Expansion. You can view that post below, and stay up to date with the 56 for 56 campaign by following the Governor’s social media channels and using the hashtag #56for56.
