MORE INFORMATION:
Through Industry-Based training and certification programming, Thrive New Orleans has been able to sustainably connect numerous community members seeking better financial opportunities for themselves and their families with stable employment. Through the implementation of our ‘Earn & Learn’ paid cohort model, we sought to address economic challenges that obstruct many lower-income individuals from investing in their futures.
Thrive Works Green participants are able to build skills that will make them competitive job seekers in the green infrastructure industry while still earning an income. Thrive has built relationships with city agencies like Parks and Parkways, Sewerage & Water Board, and the Department of Public Works. These partnerships have led to Thrive Works Green graduates being connected to stable employment.
Participants are encouraged to see themselves, not only as laborers in the Green Infrastructure Industry, but also as potential business owners and employers. Through Thrive’s Green Business Academy, business owners in the landscaping, horticulture, construction, and green industries are introduced to stormwater management interventions that they can implement into their existing business model, in order to become more marketable to secure contracts for green infrastructure projects.
