NEW ORLEANS — Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans (HBAGNO) hosted its annual Reel Builders Fishing Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 30 at sunrise at Island Marina at Lake Catherine. This year’s tournament was presented by Forever Lawn Gulf South with generous support from M&M Glass Company, Port Orleans Brewing Co., Gulf Coast Bank & Trust Company, and Louisiana Seafood.
Five-thousand-dollars in prizes was awarded to winners in the following categories: Kenny Adams – $1,000 for the Largest Redfish; Colin Albert – $1,000 for the Largest Trout; and Peter Cole, Wayne Benvenutti and Kenny Adams – $3,000 for the Largest Stringer (3 trout, 2 redfish).
Following a fun day of fishing, guests were treated to a Shrimp Boil, sponsored by Louisiana Seafood, featuring an awards ceremony, and a DJ afterparty by Party-Tyme Productions. Complimentary beer/soda and featured brews from Port Orleans Brewing and Tasting Room were also provided.
A portion of this year’s proceeds will be donated to Wish to Fish, Louisiana. Wish to Fish offers children and families the opportunity to learn about boating skills and safety, encourage parent/child interaction, and more.
