NEW ORLEANS — Now through Aug. 29, Winn-Dixie is helping customers save a “bunch” by offering a special price on bananas for just $0.49 per lb – perfect for school lunch or a nutritious snack. The grocer is committed to providing customers the best products with incredible prices and convenience while shopping at their neighborhood store.
The Gretna Winn-Dixie is celebrating National Banana Split Day with a FREE community event this Friday, Aug. 25 from 3 – 6 p.m. Local families are invited to stop by the store, located at 2112 Belle Chasse Highway, for an after-school treat. Attendees will savor a free banana split featuring an “appeeling” assortment of toppings from the award-winning SE Grocers product line, including ice cream, whipped cream, flavored syrups and more.
In addition, Winn-Dixie is offering deeper discounts on more than 150 most-shopped products as part of the “Down Down” program. Local shoppers will save more than 15% on average when shopping seasonal items marked by the red hand on signs and tags.
To bolster its support of local communities, Winn-Dixie is also hosting its third annual school donation program through Aug. 29. Customers can support local students by donating $1, $5 or by rounding up their purchase at checkout. Each cent raised will be donated directly to the store’s local school partner to help fund vital school resources and educational programs to ensure a successful start to the new school year.
