NEW ORLEANS — The Mayor’s Office of Housing Policy and Community Development today announced it will host a Community-Based Entergy Assistance Event on Wednesday, May 3 and Thursday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Treme Community Recreational Center (900 N. Villere St.). Parking will be available at the Mahalia Jackson Theater (1419 Basin St.) from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Anyone who has not received utility assistance from the City of New Orleans may attend to receive assistance. City employees will be onsite to review documentation for past due utility assistance applicants. Prior to the event, applicants must complete the online application at: https://nola.gov/community-development/utility-assistance-program/
Please arrive with a form of identification, proof of address and current income and documentation evidencing the past due utility bill. Translators will also be available.
The utility assistance program was developed due the impact of the pandemic. Since 2021, the Cantrell Administration has provided over $6.5 million in emergency utility assistance to approximately 5,500 New Orleans households.
