Urban League of Louisiana and Partners to Unveil Automotive Technician Apprenticeship Program

BATON ROUGE – Urban League of Louisiana, the National Automobile Dealers Association, and National Urban League will join partners at the Baton Rouge Community College McKay Automotive Training Center to unveil a pilot automotive technician apprenticeship program that will help train and hire enthusiastic trainees for an exciting career within the automotive retail space. The pilot will take place in New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

The pilot program has 20 apprentices and is a partnership that also includes the Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association, Baton Rouge Community College, and Delgado Community College. Federal appropriations secured by Congressman Troy Carter also supports this initiative.
