NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans today announced that on Saturday, March 11, the New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission will host its annual youth and teens Summer Camp Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration for 2023 NORD youth and teen career camps begins Saturday, March 11 at the Expo. Registration information is available online at www.nordc.org and on-site at each Expo.
The Summer Camp Expo will be held in five locations across the city:
- Morris F.X. Jeff (formerly Behrman) Rec Center, 2529 General Meyer Ave.
- Milne Rec Center, 5420 Franklin Ave.
- Stallings St. Claude Rec Center, 4300 St. Claude Ave.
- Joe W. Brown Rec Center, 5601 Read Blvd.
- Rosenwald Rec Center, 1120 S. Broad St.
This is part of a robust package of summer opportunities available to New Orleans youth and teens located across all five City Council districts. This year, NORD is offering 28 youth and teen career summer camps that will serve more than 2,000 kids (ages 4-12) and 1,000 teens (ages 13-17) across the city through partnerships with schools, non-profits and faith-based organizations.
Summer camps offer a wide array of academic, cultural and recreational activities, including field trips to the Audubon Zoo, the Aquarium of the Americas and NORD pools for water-safety lessons. Parents may visit NORD’s website for a full list of camp offerings and instructions on what information is needed to register youth for camp.
Please see the table below for camp registration locations during the Summer Camp Expo on March 11. Summer camps registration will only take place at the NORD Recreation Centers listed. All camps will not be at each location. Please pay close attention to the camp locations you are interested in, and visit those Expo locations only for an opportunity to speak directly with those specific camp directors. Parents may register for any NORD camp at all five Expo sites. Please bring hard copies of all required documents to register on-site during the Expo.
