AVONDALE — March is Women’s History Month. What better way to celebrate the many contributions that women make to the economy and the community than to attend a panel discussion from female leaders who will share their stories, perspectives, and advice?
Join JEDCO to hear from four female leaders across a diverse range of industries and backgrounds. They will share their personal experiences in leadership roles, how they got there, and how they continue to grow their businesses and organizations. Moderated by Diane Jackson, The Slone Group, this panel will offer frank discussions on work/life balance, the challenges women have faced in the workforce in recent years, being a female leader in male-dominated industries, and so much more!
Join IN PERSON on Wednesday, March 30 from 9 -10:30 am at the JEDCO Conference Center in the Churchill Technology and Business Park on the West Bank. Registration is $5 and non-refundable. Please register for the event in advance.

Meet The Panelists
Jahida L. Lewis Crawford, Attorney, The Law Office of Lewis-Crawford
Jahida is the founder of The Law Office of Lewis-Crawford. Jahida received her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Probation and Parole and a minor in Social Welfare from the University of West Florida. She received her Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Loyola University of New Orleans and her Juris Doctrine from Southern University Law Center. Jahida has extensive experience in the areas of Personal Injury, Workers’ Compensation, Family Law, Successions, Wills, Traffic, Notary, and Criminal Law. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, New Orleans Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Alliance, Kenner Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and many more. She is the recipient of the Kenner Key to the City Award. Jahida is a Kenner native, mother of two, and graduate of Grace King High School in Metairie. Julie Henry, Chief Operating Officer, Ochsner Digital Medicine
Julie is the Chief Operating Officer of Ochsner Digital Medicine. Her experience in managing service line, clinic, and hospital operations has given her the necessary insight and expertise to help grow and scale Ochsner Digital Medicine initiatives, integrating them as a standard of patient care and an innovative population health solution. Julie began her career at Ochsner in 2007 and has held several leadership roles including Manager of Medical Specialties, Director of Radiology, Assistant Vice President of the Radiology Service Line, and Chief Operating Officer of Ochsner Medical Center-Kenner. She is a member of American College of Healthcare Executive (ACHE), Digital Medicine Society (DiMe) and The University of Alabama Culverhouse Executives Society (CES). She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management from the University of Alabama and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of New Orleans. She is the proud mom to William (5) and Peter (1) and husband to Matt (a Senior Project Manager specializing in renovating historic homes). Like most New Orleanians, her favorite thing to do is try the latest restaurant opening in our amazing city.
Ruth Lawson, President, Jefferson Chamber of Commerce
Ruth is the new President of the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce. Before taking the helm of the 25-year-old business organization, Ruth was the Executive Director of the Jefferson Parish Finance Authority where she managed an operating budget and portfolio of approximately $20 million in investments, cash, and securities. She is a small business co-owner with her husband Brett of several Smoothie King franchises, a nutritional beverage company founded in Kenner. Lawson, a graduate of LSU Law School who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the same university, also served as a Senior Parish Attorney and as a Chief Administrative Officer in Jefferson Parish. She was a corporate attorney and compliance officer for Barriere Construction Company, L.L.C. following her years in Jefferson Parish government.
Tammy O’Shea, Chief Marketing Officer, Fidelity Bank
Tammy has 28 years of experience in branding, marketing, public relations, event planning and sales management. She currently serves as Chief Marketing Officer of the 1 billion dollar in assets Fidelity Bank and the Bank’s Mortgage Division, NOLA Lending Group. As CMO, Tammy’s duties include developing brand strategy and supervising all public relations, sponsorships, corporate events, advertising and social media efforts. In addition, she serves as the Bank’s corporate spokesperson and media relations expert. She holds a BA in Journalism from Louisiana State University and is a graduate of the American Bankers Association School of Bank Marketing and the Southeastern School of Sales Management at Vanderbilt. Tammy enjoys public speaking and is a frequent guest speaker at various conferences related to Bank and Financial Service Marketing. Prior to her career in the financial service industry, Tammy was an account executive for broadcast media sales.
Diane Jackson, Director of Curriculum and Programs, The Slone Group
Diane is the Director of Curriculum and Programs for The Slone Group, an organizational development and training consulting firm based in the Greater New Orleans area. Diane develops, coordinates, and manages all programs and projects for The Slone Group, ensuring the delivery of high quality and impactful outcomes for clients. Diane is an active community leader in the Greater New Orleans area, contributing her time and talent to the betterment of the community. Her civic leadership activities include Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, Nominations Committee Chair for New Orleans African American Museum, immediate past chair of Jefferson Rise Charter School (Board Chair), Secretary for the River Region Chamber of Commerce, and Program Coordinator for Leadership River Region. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of New Orleans and she is certified through the Society of Human Resources.
