New Orleans Business Alliance to Share Big Announcement for HBCU Students on March 10th

NEW ORLEANS — Our team at the New Orleans Business Alliance (NOLABA), alongside partners from United Way of Southeast Louisiana (UWSELA) and representatives from each of the city’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), invite you to join us for a virtual press conference on Thursday, March 10, at 10 AM to learn more about a new financial capacity-building and career support program for HBCU students launching this month.

This transformational new initiative was developed in response to recent data, which shows far too many New Orleans college students are struggling to make ends meet, working low-paying jobs that barely afford them the basic necessities, let alone the many financial burdens of attending university, such as tuition, housing, books, etc. In partnership with UWSELA and the city’s three HBCU institutions, NOLABA will work throughout the coming year to address this increasingly pressing issue to place college-aged students on pathways to prosperity, setting them up for career and financial success post-graduation.

SPEAKERS INCLUDE:
– Norman E. Barnum, IV, Interim President and CEO, NOLABA
– Michael Williamson, President and CEO, UWSELA
– Dwanna Toney, Director, Center for Career and Professional Development, Dillard University
– Dr. Kim E. Rugon, Vice-Chancellor of Institutional Advancement, SUNO
– Provost Anne McCall, Ph. D., Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Xavier University
– Angela Shiloh Cryer, Director of Talent Partnerships, NOLABA

We hope to see you all there via live stream on our Facebook and YouTube pages.
