Mister Mao Kicks Off Guest Chef Series February 20th

NEW ORLEANS – Since opening summer 2021, Mister Mao has received raves and accolades for Chef/Owner Sophina Uong’s unapologetically “inauthentic” globally-inspired cuisine. Uong, and her husband/partner William “Wildcat” Greenwell are grateful to the New Orleans community for embracing them and want to return the favor. As a result, the duo has just announced a new Guest Chef Charity Series which will feature multi-course collaborative dinners and brunches with local Chefs, while giving back to the community. The series will kick off on Sunday, February 20, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. with a very special Good Trouble Network Brunch to benefit the Orleans Parish Prison Reform Coalition (OPPRC) – a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a community-centered approach to justice in order to foster a whole and liberated New Orleans.

“It’s always fun to cook with other chefs and collaborate on fun and unique menus. Since it’s important to us to raise money for New Orleans, we also want to give a portion of proceeds to our visiting chef’s favorite charities,” explains Uong.

Priced at $65 per person (plus tax and gratuity), the four-course brunch includes two cocktails per person and will showcase the culinary talents of Nick Martin/Dr. SmokeOctavio Ycaza/Crescent Culinary; and Christina Quackenbush/Milkfish. Social media sensation Metal Dad will also collaborate and cocktails will be created by Good Trouble Network’s Hannah Epstein. Menu follows:
