The Garden District Book Shop Announces Sip & Shop and Hot Chocolate with Mr. Bingle Events

NEW ORLEANS — The Garden District Book Shop announced new events.

DECEMBER 14 | SIP & SHOP  | 5:00 P.M.

Get your last-minute Christmas gifts and enjoy a night out at The Rink. The Rink is staying open late again to host a final Sip & Shop of the season on December 14. The retailers will be open starting at 5:00 PM and the evening will highlight Maisonette. The Maisonette team will have their pajama racks out on display in the main hall and there will be some models wearing the holiday pajamas around The Rink. Guests will also enjoy light bites and champagne as they shop.

DECEMBER 16 | THE BREES WAY SIGNING WITH MIKE NABORS | 3:00-6:00 P.M.

Author Mike Nabors will be at The Garden District Book Shop on December 16 from 3:00-6:00 PM to sign copies of his latest work, “The Brees Way: The Best of my Hundreds of Interviews with #9, Complemented with Perspective from Those Who Know Him Best.” In the book, Nabors delves into Drew’s career in a unique fashion going behind the scenes to learn how he approached the game and ultimately left his legendary legacy.

Nabors interviewed Brees more than any media member in his Hall of Fame career. Together, they conducted nearly 300 one-on-one interviews following every game for 14 seasons which also included co-hosting several in-depth shows. Books are available for purchase at The Garden District Book Shop.

DECEMBER 18 AND DECEMBER 19 | HOT CHOCOLATE WITH MR. BINGLE | 10:00 A.M.

A New Orleans classic, Mr. Bingle will be making a special appearance at The Rink on December 18 and 19. Guests are welcome to take their own photos with Mr. Bingle and shop around The Rink for any last-minute gifts. Still Perkin’ will be featuring holiday treats and offer a free small hot chocolate with any purchase in the Garden District Bookshop. Also, at 11:00 AM, author Judy Andry will be reading her book “Goodnight Jesus” in the Garden District Book Shop.

All city-mandated COVID safety protocols will be in place for in-person events. Proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of the event is required for entry.
