NEW ORLEANS — This May, a new culinary and cultural experience is coming to New Orleans with the Haitian Food Crawl: Ann Manje!, a four-day event celebrating Haitian Heritage Month and spotlighting Haiti’s profound influence on New Orleans cuisine and culture. The inaugural event will take place May 15–18, 2025, culminating on Haitian Flag Day.
Rooted in the belief that “you feel Haiti in New Orleans,” the Haitian Food Crawl is designed to amplify the under-told story of Haiti’s impact on the Crescent City—through food, music, and shared history. Participants will explore neighborhoods, enjoy Haitian-inspired dishes and cocktails, and connect with the cultural legacy that’s long been woven into the city’s identity.
Organized by Replenish 509 for Reviv Ayiti, a New Orleans-based non-profit corporation founded by the René family, this event supports the organization’s mission to enrich the narrative of New Orleans by uplifting it’s Haitian roots. Proceeds from the food crawl will help raise funds for cultural programming, residencies, and a virtual library dedicated to the shared heritage between Haiti and Louisiana. .
“This isn’t an ordinary food event—it’s an immersive cultural celebration,” says Régine René-Labrousse. “We’re inviting the whole city to taste, see, and feel Haiti’s influence on New Orleans together. It’s about honoring a vibrant heritage that has defined our collective identity and enriched our cultural fabric since the late 1700s.”
