The New Orleans Vampire Café Debuts in the French Quarter

The new café offers vampire-themed menus, otherworldly decór and mystical experiences of the immortal

NEW ORLEANS – Today, The New Orleans Vampire Café, a one-of-a-kind café experience inspired by eternal life and the quintessential mystique of New Orleans, debuts in the heart of the famed French Quarter. Offering an authentic immersion in the distinctive magic of this iconic destination, the café features a vampire-themed atmosphere and gothic style decor; premium Vampire Family Brands coffee, wines and spirits; locally inspired cuisine; and a true adventure for the senses. Prioritizing the health and safety of its guests, The New Orleans Vampire Café embraces an unorthodox but tantalizing January launch and is sure to be an unforgettable way to kick off 2021.

A haunting collaboration between Marita Crandle, owner of Boutique du Vampyre, and Vampire Family Brands, The New Orleans Vampire Café envelopes guests into the realm of the undead and romantic mysticism of the city with an interior design inspired by medieval castles. From the entryway to the bathrooms, the space is replete with vaulted ceilings, gargoyles, black sconces and candle holders, colonies of bats as well as framed parchment bearing centuries-old myths and legends.

Quenching guests’ thirst for blood, the café serves a full lineup of libations, including beer, wine, spirits and premium coffee strong enough to wake the dead. True to the venue’s theme, guests can select from a variety of Vampire®️ Wines (with the popular Trueblood™ WineFangria SangriaDracula Sparkling Wine and even Cabernets with Capes) as well as specialty cocktails named after blood types and crafted with Vampyre Vodka. For a caffeine kick, there is hand-crafted, single origin Vampire Gourmet Coffee (a dark French roast from Brazil) and cappuccinos topped with bat-shaped art.

Offering tasty “bites,” the café’s menu by Executive Chef Chris Dunn includes dishes inspired by New Orleans’ distinctive French-Creole roots like shrimp and grits, blackened alligator po boy sandwiches and steaks served bloody rare. Touches like gold tableware–as silver is deadly for vampires–and bat-shaped napkins round out guests’ dining experience.

Much more than an eatery, the café also offers outdoor tarot card readings in the Vampire Courtyard of Good & Evil, snake oil and custom fangs, world-class magic shows, self-service tea leaf readings, bite mark temporary tattoos and much more. For a full blood-sucking themed getaway, The New Orleans Vampire Café serves as a hub for Vampire Adventure Tours and is just steps from some of the area’s most iconic retail stores, voodoo hotspots, speakeasies and music venues.

“So many people come to New Orleans for the magic,” says Crandle. “They love visiting the vampire, witch and voodoo shops and taking the haunted tours, but there has never been anywhere magical for them to go for a dining experience.”

With plenty of outdoor patio seating and adherence to health and safety guidelines, The New Orleans Vampire Café is a safe, must-visit destination for guests looking to have a magical start to 2021. Located at 801 Royal Street behind Jackson Square, the Café is open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Café will be open 24 hours when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
