Cochon Butcher Brings Back “Schnitzel Night”

NEW ORLEANSCochon Butcher is again raising a stein to Oktoberfest, launching a month-long celebration of German-inspired flavors and rare beer offerings.

Each Wednesday, guests can enjoy rotating schnitzel specials paired with exclusive cask pours of St. Arnold Oktoberfest Märzen Lager – a brewed seasonal favorite rarely available in cask form. “Schnitzel Night” kicks off at 5 p.m., with 20 oz. pours served in traditional mugs.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer these limited casks,” said Zack Shelton, Cochon Butcher general manager. “These lagers are meant to be enjoyed fresh, so once they’re gone, they’re gone.”

Schnitzel Night & Cask Tap Dates and Specials:

Oct. 1: Frankfurt Schnitzel – fried pork cutlet with boiled new potatoes, fried egg, and Grüne Soße

Oct. 8: Balkanschnitzel – fried pork cutlet with paprika and tomato sauce and spaetzle

Oct. 15: Holstein Schnitzel – veal cutlet with fried egg, Brabant potatoes, Ortiz anchovies, and lemon caper butter

On the final night of festivities, Cochon Butcher will also tap a rare cask of Weihenstephaner Festbier—the gold standard of Oktoberfest lagers from the world’s oldest and longest-operating brewery. This special pour will accompany the final schnitzel set, offering guests a truly authentic taste of Bavarian tradition.

Throughout the season, Cochon Butcher will also feature daily and weekly German food specials. Guests can enjoy a lineup of hearty Oktoberfest-inspired dishes, including beer-braised brats with potatoes, apples, and sauerkraut; German potato salad; currywurst with potato wedges; kielbasa sandwich with fresh kielbasa, onion, and tarragon mustard; and fried Emmentaler with roasted beet salad.
